Community banks, as a concept, are everything customers often say they want from a financial institution. But, between 2000 and 2020, the total number of community banks in America decreased from over 8,300 to 4,277. That’s a steep decline even as banking generally has become more consolidated and globalised.
In this show, we've put together a panel to discuss: what is the role of community banks in 2023, the challenges and opportunites of innovation, and what the future may look like for these institutions dating back to the 1800s.
