Sarah and Nigel are joined by some fantastic guests today who are all here to talk to us about Insurtech UK, the self-proclaimed alliance of insurtech startups and partners in the UK aiming to disrupt the insurance industry. This episode is also our big 4-0, our 40th episode in this series and here to celebrate with us are:

Kicking off the show our guests tells us a bit about how Insurtech UK came about and why there is a need for such an alliance in the UK. The panel agrees that with knowledge comes an overarching responsibility to educate people in this subject as insurance is something that can easily be overlooked. Banking touches people every day whereas insurance touches people once a year, and people just don't take the time to sit down and learn about it.

Next up, the panel discusses the most exciting part of insurtech and what insurtech really needs in order to reach its real potential. There are also comparisons between traditional insurance and insurtech: what intrigues people about this technology, and what might the industry look like in 10 years? With insurtech being a new technology, how do you measure success? Nigel talks about how we have all the ingredients, but we just want cake and his predictions for the future of insurtech.

We also have an interview with Pravina Ladva, Chief Technology and Operations Officer - Swiss Re, Life Capital, directly from her office in the Gherkin!
