I am hungover. Last night at the British Banking Awards, presented by Smart Money People, was epic.

We only went and won Best Consultancy. Damn!

Us. 11:FS. You know ‘the people with the tees’ and the ‘people who do that podcast’ beat the multi-billion dollar businesses.

Yep, that’s us. And I’m proud that we’re different.

At 11:FS we are a group of passionate people who communicate like crazy, fail small and often, celebrate each other's victories but most of all are much more productive as a team than we would be as individuals.

This award is the culmination, so far, of almost three years of work. As I referenced in a recent blog, we’ve had many successes, and some ‘failures’ on the journey so far.

We’ve had to fight and fight hard to get to where we are now. We focused on building solutions to the problems we faced. We take pride in not being normal.

So yes we’re ‘the podcast people’, with the #1 business podcast on the UK iTunes chart, listened to in more than 180 countries.

We’re also the people that helped an incumbent bank, NatWest, launch a new digital service to market in under nine months. You can read, and hear, all about Mettle here.

We're the firm that realised the way insights and market intelligence were delivered was fundamentally broken, so we’re fixing it with a dedicated research team and through our 11:FS Pulse platform.

We saw and heard the same frustrations being repeated around the barriers to delivering digitally-native services, so we’ve created 11:FS Foundry to bypass legacy infrastructure and complexity constraints to build digital banking services fit for the future.

And here we are today, hungover but happy.

Consultancy of the year! I need to keep repeating that until it sinks in.

A huge thanks goes out to everyone at 11:FS, the amazing partners we work with and our brilliant clients for voting. We truly appreciate it.

We’re equally pleased to see our friends and Fintech Insider regulars Bud, Freetrade, Monzo and Starling, all taking home the top prizes. Richly deserved.

The full list of winners can be seen here.
